Welcome to Children’s Ministry!

Building a Strong Spiritual Foundation for the Next Generation

The Children’s Ministry at Sozo Church of God exists to nurture young hearts and minds in the love of Jesus. We believe every child is precious, created with purpose, and capable of experiencing God in a real and personal way. Our desire is to create a safe, joyful, and Spirit-led environment where children can grow spiritually, emotionally, socially, and creatively.

Our Mandate

We are committed to teaching children the Word of God in simple, engaging, and age-appropriate ways.
Our mission is to partner with parents in laying a solid foundation of faith that will guide their children throughout their lives.

We aim to raise a generation that knows Jesus, loves His Word, and walks in His ways.

Our Vision for the Children

To see every child discover the love of God, understand their identity in Christ, and grow into confident, compassionate, Spirit-led believers.

What We Believe

  • Children can encounter God at a young age.

  • The Holy Spirit ministers to children just as powerfully as He does to adults.

  • Teaching must be creative, fun, and rooted in Scripture.

  • Every child has a God-given purpose and calling.

  • A child’s spiritual foundation determines their future walk with God.

We value children not just as future leaders, but as active members of God’s kingdom today.

OUR CORE FOCUS

1. Spiritual Formation

We help children:

  • Learn the stories and principles of the Bible

  • Understand who Jesus is

  • Build a strong prayer life

  • Develop a love for worship

  • Grow in godly character

Our lessons are interactive and relatable, ensuring that the truth of Scripture is planted deeply in their hearts.

2. Safe & Loving Environment

Every child is welcomed with care, respect, and attention.
Our teachers and volunteers are trained, screened, and dedicated to providing:

  • Safety

  • Warmth

  • Emotional support

  • Clear structure

  • Spirit-led guidance

We want every child to feel seen, valued, and loved.

3. Creative Learning

Children learn best when the experience is engaging.
We use creative methods such as:

  • Storytelling

  • Drama and skits

  • Memory verses

  • Crafts and art

  • Music and dance

  • Interactive games

  • Group discussions

Learning the Word becomes exciting and unforgettable.

4. Character & Values

We intentionally teach values that shape godly behavior:

  • Honesty

  • Kindness

  • Respect

  • Obedience

  • Gratitude

  • Responsibility

  • Sharing and compassion

Our goal is to raise children who reflect Christ in their homes, schools, and friendships.

We have a vibrant curriculum that children love and learn from, as well as family resources designed to meet the needs of today’s families. Children are encouraged to open their hearts to God through worship and study in a safe and loving environment.
Our Nursery- Kinder Director, Monique Rios, and our Children’s Director, Juli Godsil, are both available to help you in the most important task any parent can have – helping your child develop a relationship with God!

Heaven makes space for every child and so do we.

What We Offer

Sunday Children’s Church

Every Sunday, children gather for a vibrant service designed specifically for them.
They worship, learn, play, and grow together in a safe and joyful atmosphere.

Age-Appropriate Classes

We group children according to age to ensure lessons meet their developmental needs.
Younger children receive simpler teachings, while older children are guided into deeper understanding and personal application of Scripture.

Special Events

Throughout the year, we host:

  • Children’s fun days

  • Bible quiz competitions

  • Creative arts days

  • Holiday Bible clubs

Partnering With Parents

We believe parents are the primary spiritual leaders of their children.
Our ministry supports them by:

  • Providing biblical guidance

  • Sharing weekly lessons for home follow-up

  • Offering prayer support

  • Encouraging family devotion time

When church and home work together, children flourish.

Find out what to expect

We acknowledge Jesus Christ as the head of our church and fully submit ourselves to His will. In every aspect of our ministry our goal is always to honor and glorify the Lord Jesus Christ.

We believe the Bible is God’s inspired authoritative and trustworthy rule of faith and practice for Christians. Therefore, we submit ourselves to its teaching, commit ourselves to do what it says, and yield our lives to become what Christ desires for us to be.

We believe in the power of prayer. Therefore, the ministries and activities our church will be characterized by a reliance on personal and corporate prayer in all areas of our lives and ministry.

We believe in the Great Commission commanded to us by Jesus Christ and we are committed to reaching unsaved and unchurched people locally, nationally and worldwide. We will use every available Christ-honoring means to pursue, win and disciple the people in our sphere of influence.

We believe God ordained the family to glorify him. We are committed to cultivate an atmosphere which promotes spiritual growth within the family by reaching families with the gospel, discipling them in Christ-like character and teaching each family member how to fulfill their God-given role.
